Guardians of the Galaxy 2 David Hasslehoff theme is Disco madness: Start the party HERE

“Bizarre but awesome” seems to sum up the general reaction to the crazy tune.

The movie’s Awesome Mix Tape Vol 2 will include the discotastic Guardians Inferno.

The lyrics have been written by the director James Gunn, with vocals by Peter Quill’s (aka Star Lord) boyhood hero and part-time German chart-topping superstar.

Brace yourselves for a lot of fun and even more silliness – which seems to be exactly what the film is aiming to deliver.

Even more fun are the relentlessly silly lyrics, which Hasselhoff sings with admirable conviction.

The whole song is sung from the point of view of Star Lord.

Typical lyrics reference his fellow Guardians and why he bring a baby (Groot) into such dangerous situations.

For example, the song goes: “They ask me why I’m bringing a baby into battle. They say it’s irresponsible and getting them rattled.

“I say ‘Give me a break, get off my back, dammit. I didn’t learn parenting, my daddy was a planet.’”

Poor old Groot pops up again in the impressive rhyme: “That weird thing by his side, an infantilized sequoia. The two of them walk by, people say ‘Oh, Boy-a.'”

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is out in cinemas on April 28
