The X Factor mogul revealed earlier this week that he plans to bring out the record, and the first wave of confirmed acts has now been revealed.
The song itself will be a cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water, and will release on Monday.
A number of names from Cowell’s own roster are already on board, including Liam Payne – formerly of One Direction – and X Factor winners James Arthur and Louisa Johnson.
Craig David, Lily Allen, Skepta, Stormzy, Emeli Sande and The Who are also aboard.
The song will be recorded tomorrow, and Cowell has confirmed that he will continue to try and drum up participants until the very last minute.
“Until that last note has been finished, we will not be off the phone,” he told The Sun.
“We started 24 hours ago and already we’re getting calls coming in, mainly from Brits.
“A lot of London artists, people like Skepta, Stormzy, Emile Sande, The London Community Gospel Choir, all wanted to be involved.”
He added: “I drove up very near [Grenfell], because you can’t get too close, but when you see it first hand it really does it hit you which is one of the reasons why I wanted to do this so quickly.
“You sit there, you’re looking at the that, and then go back and watch the news and you think, ‘what the f**k do you do?’
“I thought this is the best thing because it’s quick and I’ve done it before. Normally when you do this things it’s start a wave.”
So far 30 people have been confirmed dead in the fire, but that number is expected to rise considerably in the coming days.
