Chuen-Yan ‘Yan’ came in sixth place tonight after a disastrous Italian Week, which saw the bakers complain of overheating, as she failed to impress judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.
The laboratory research scientist narrowly missed out on a place in next week’s quarter-finals, and Great British Bake Off fans were livid.
“So Kate’s pizza looked like it was done by a 3 year old but Yan goes?? Nah av had enough #GBBO,” hissed one audience member, as another agreed: “#GBBO Yan I was routing for you to succeeded! you was always helping the others and that is what baking is about.”
A third moaned: “#GBBO how did Kate not get the boot? Yan wasn’t great but Kate got everything wrong!”
“Is bake off even worth watching without Yan??? #GBBO,” asked one more, which was followed by: “#gbbo I finally understand how angry you feel when you disagree with a refs decision. Yan you are still my one and only (apart from Liam)”
This particularly enraged critic cried: “STACEY HAS BEEN RUBBISH EVERY WEEK! YAN HAD ONE BAD WEEK . NOT. OKAY. #GBBO.”
Although, it was a better week for Steven Carter-Bailey, who earned his third Star Baker title of the series so far.
Elsewhere, Paul sparked concern among viewers after they noticed something very unusual about his appearance.
Countless fans swept across Twitter to mock the 51-year-old over his fake tan.
Great British Bake Off continues Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
