Gran Turismo Sport server status: New GT Sport PSN maintenance confirmed on PS4

According to those trying to play the game tonight on the PlayStation Network, Gran Turismo Sport servers are currently offline.

And this might be because of new maintenance being performed by Sony on the PS4 exclusive.

“Server maintenance will be performed for the Gran Turismo Sport in the following dates and times,” an official GT Sport message confirms.

“Please note that it will not be possible to use online features including the Sport Mode during maintenance.”

However, the GT Sport maintenance period listed above has been confirmed to run on 19 October, 2017, between 21:00 – 23:00 PDT.

In the UK that would mean servers going offline at around 5am on Friday, October 20.

Whatever the current problem is, with the game going offline, it won’t leave much for PS4 gamers to do during it.

GT Sport is out on PS4 today, and the reviews have been coming in as the critics have their say on the latest entry in the Gran Turismo series.

GT Sport was first unveiled by Sony two years ago and marks a radical departure for ‘the real driving simulator’.

Instead of the traditional career mode, GT Sport features the new Campaign mode.

The online mode has various challenges, missions and circuit tests drivers have to perform.

The huge mode gives you the chance to earn the FIA Gran Turismo Digital License – a real, accredited racing licence from the FIA.

GT Sport has also slimmed down the number of cars and tracks on offer.

Instead of the 1,197 cars in Gran Turismo 6, GT Sport has 162 cars you can take to the race tracks.

It’s a significantly less number, but many of those cars were ‘standard’ models, which have been entirely scrapped for GT Sport.

GT Sport also boasts 40 tracks – well under half of what was offered in Gran Turismo 6.

However, despite these setbacks – GT Sport is a hugely detailed, technical, deep and beautiful game.
