Gotham and DC Comics fans alike tuned in around the globe to watch the season five premiere last night. Episode one didn’t disappoint with fans witnessing James Gordon (played by Ben McKenzie), Harvey (Donal Logue), The Riddler (Cory Michael Smith), and The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) come together against unknown invading forces in a high-octane battle. With a promo for the next episode of Gotham being shown at the end of the first episode, fans want to know what will happen in the next episode entitled Trespassers.
When will Gotham season 5, episode 2 air?
Gotham’s second episode of the fifth season will air on Thursday, January 10 on FOX in the USA.
The first episode of Gotham aired at 8/7c in the evening, and Trespassers will be on TV at the same time on January 10.
UK fans of Gotham will have to wait a bit longer to catch a glimpse of the fifth season, however, with a release date still yet to be announced.
What will happen in Gotham season 5, episode 2?
The promo for Trespassers promises just as much chaotic action as the first episode delivered.
Gotham’s second episode trailer opens with The Joker (Cameron Monaghan) in a dimly-lit room as he utters the words “today’s the big day” with his signature crazed smile etched upon his face.
From there, the promo descends into a series of shots including a panicked Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Gordon issuing the warning: “Things are changing in Gotham”.
The trailer also teases the introduction of highly-anticipated character Bane (Shane West).
At first, the promo only shows a glimpse of Bane’s face, but by the end, we witness the villain making his way through a burning building, but who towards is unclear.
Away from Bane, as the chaos ensues in Gotham City, The Penguin rallies his allies around him and tells Gordon: “Gotham is mine now”.
This prompts a furious reaction from McKenzie’s character as the promo shows him take physical actions against the series’ antagonist.
The Trespassers trailer also shows a tense face-off between The Riddler and The Penguin, with the former telling the latter: “You broke me”.
What exactly this admission could mean for the future of either character is yet to be seen.
Expect plenty of explosions, fist-fights, and an unmissable showdown between Bruce Wayne and The Joker in the next episode of Gotham.
Who will star in Gotham season 5, episode 2?
All of the series’ core characters return for the next instalment of the DC Comics series.
This means actors Ben McKenzie, David Mazouz, Camren Bicondona (who plays Selina Kyle), Cory Michael Smith, and Robin Lord Taylor are just a handful of the fan favourites set to return for Trespassers.
Judging by the promo, Bane actor Shane West will make his debut on the second episode of the final season of Gotham to wreak havoc on the city.
Gotham season 5 continues on FOX on Thursday, at 7/8c.
