Fidget Spinners, also known as Fidget Rollers and Finger Spinners, have become the must-have toys of the year.
Although the stress-relieving gadget was first invented back in the 1990s, it has gained some serious popularity within the last year.
Forbes proclaimed Fidget Spinners “the must-have office toy for 2017″ ahead of Christmas – sending the popularity rocketing, and stock levels dwindling.
And now Google has jumped onto the Fidget Spinner bandwagon with a digital alternative.
If you search for the word Spinner on the hugely-successful search engine – Google offers users a digital version of the popular toy.
Located between the search box and the web results, Google provides an interactive Fidget Spinner.
Users can use their computer mouse or touchscreen to spin the digital stress-relieving gadget to their hearts’ content.
There’s also a Spin! box as well, in-case you don’t fancy the manual approach.
If you needed proof about the spiralling popularity of the Fidget Spinner, there’s no better example than the Torqbar designed by MD Engineering, which retail between $ 129.99 to $ 259.99 – roughly £100 to £200, are now selling for an eye-watering $ 400 on eBay, some £310 converted, because of limited availability.
And these pocket-sized gadgets aren’t simply being marketed as a stress reliever for office workers, school children are also buying the toys by the truckload, with some schools now banning Spinners completely.
Dozens of different manufacturers have jumped on the bandwagon, offering the nifty toy (which spins almost indefinitely thanks to the ball-bearing system in its centre) from £1 or less online.
UK buyers are desperately searching for the must-have toys, with high street retailers out of stock.
Smyths and Toys ‘R Us are both out of stock – with the next batch of Fidget Spinners not scheduled until as late as mid-July.
