Google Santa Tracker – Follow Father Christmas' progress with Google LIVE online, in-app

It’s almost here.

As you read this sentence, Santa Claus is likely busy loading his sleigh with the latest gadgets, toys, treats and a few lumps of coal (for the unlucky few on the naughty list).

Thankfully, with the wonders of modern technology there are plenty of ways to track his progress as he speeds around the world tonight, taking single bites of mince pies and leaving coal-coated footprints on your carpet.

Like a pricey courier service, excitable children can track his progress on a map, as the sleighful of presents make their way across the globe towards your chimney.

So, if want to know when your presents are about to be delivered – here is how to use the Google Santa Tracker to track Saint Nick.

Google’s Santa tracker is back for another year of festive fun.

The online Christmas celebration includes games such as Santa Selfie, videos and the all-important live Santa tracker, which features Google Maps’ technology.

There’s also an app for tracking the sleigh from your smartphone.

Google has also kitted out its clever virtual assistant with the smarts to track the festive fellow itself.

Simply ask the Google Assistant “Where’s Santa?” and the talkative assistant lets you know what he’s up to at that very moment.

You can also entertain yourself by asking Google Assistant for holiday-themed jokes.

Sadly, Google’s app is only available on Android phones so iPhone fans will have to stick to the website.

“On Christmas Eve we’ll be proudly showcasing a Santa’s dashboard, the technology that powers his sleigh during his around-the-world journey,” said Google.

“We’ve received this special preview from one of Santa’s many developer elves, who are hard at work in the North Pole helping Santa prepare for his big day.”
