As the GMB team discussed the Labour conference divisions which hit headlines over the weekend, the shadow chancellor took it upon himself to stick up for his party.
Political commentators, Kevin Maguire and Andrew Pierce, were debating matters with Piers and Susanna when the latter pointed over his shoulder to an incoming John.
Susanna exclaimed: “Oh yes, we’re going to talk to him after 6.30am.”
While she had her head in her hands, Piers was laughing at the scene.
Andrew joked: “He’s just walked in and he heard Maguire’s defence of the Labour Party and he is horrified.”
John, 66, set about arguing with the commentating pair, all while he was microphone-free.
It was a chaotic show all round, with Piers and Lord Prescott embroiled in one of the most explosive debates ever on GMB.
The pair were embroiled in a heated discussion which involved swearing and personal attacks.
Elsewhere on the ITV breakfast show, Susanna was stunned when her co-host discussed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s sex life.
