The entertainment reporter could be seen patiently waiting to speak to the Academy Award winner during the ITV breakfast show.
But when he was finally given a chance to speak to Gary, he was rudely interrupted by another reporter.
Good Morning Britain hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid could be heard shouting encouragement to Ross as he tried to get the actor’s attention on the red carpet.
After a short while, Gary finally agreed to speak to Ross and apologised for being “busy earlier”.
“How did it go?” Ross asked.
Flashing a huge grin at the camera and holding up his Oscar, Gary replied: “It went very well.”
The 59-year-old dedicated his award to his mother during the star-studded ceremony and told her to put the kettle on.
However, before Ross had a chance to ask about his dedication, another reporter rudely interrupted their chat.
The journalist could be seen pushing her microphone in Gary’s face as she asked: “Have you spoken to your mum?”
“I haven’t spoken to my mum,” Gary replied looking a little shocked.
“I’ll see her in the morning and we’ll have a natter.”
Fortunately, Ross managed to gain control of the situation and went on to ask Gary to introduce the adverts.
The actor was more than happy to oblige as he turned to the camera and said: “We’ll back after these messages.”
Following the interview, viewers were quick to comment on the moment on Twitter, with on noting: “OMG how rude and unprofessional was that reporter trying to get onto Ross’ interview with Gary Oldman. I wouldn’t have kept my calm & would have elbowed her out the way #gmb #Oscars.”
Another continued: “Who is that blonde women trying to muscle in on #rossking interviewing Gary Oldman on #GMB @GMB does she not know the rules of waiting on the red carpet.”
It came after Frances McDormand, who won the award for Best Actress, could be seen walking straight past the reporter earlier in the evening.
Ross could be heard calling after the actress as she swiftly made her way into the venue.
He did however, manage to speak to former Hollyoaks actress Rachel Shenton about her win for short film, The Silent Child.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.
