The pair were watching their weekly dose of compulsory television when they began to discuss the royal family.
Mary showcased her take on the Queen’s wave, which she does when she greets members of the public.
Channel 4 star Giles was quick to note how similar Mary’s wave was to the royal.
“You wave like the Queen, Mary,” he exclaimed.
“That’s only to be expected.”
As Mary continued to show off her “royal wave”, she noted: “I model myself on her.”
“You’ve been compared to the Queen before, haven’t you?” Giles noted.
Mary repeated: “I model myself on her.”
As his wife stopped taking part in the segment, Giles became overexcited.
Flapping his hand around, he begged: “Look how fast I can wave!”
Mary was clearly unimpressed as she snapped: “That’s annoying!”
It comes after it was revealed how many hours of television the families that take part on Gogglebox are required to watch.
Those who appear on the Channel 4 show are reported to sit down for 12 hours of TV.
The Sun reported that the families watch each week’s programmes in two six hour stints.
It is believed that those participating are provided with free takeaways to enjoy while they watch.
Meanwhile, it was reported that each family pockets £1,500 a month.
However, for fans who would like to appear on the show, they will have to impress producers.
Those looking to take part need to impress Studio Lambert.
They are said to look for families with “strong and entertaining” personalities.
Gogglebox airs Friday on Channel 4 at 9pm.
