In a touching message shared on Twitter, the Channel 4 star told her followers: “Thank you folks for all your wonderful messages. Leon would have loved reading them and hearing how much he was loved. Goodnight and God bless!”
Her post comes just hours his death emerged, shortly after the couple told fans they were looking forward to Christmas together.
The couple’s heartbreaking last tweet read: “Goodnight Folks! Christmas is almost here let’s all try and remember it’s the season of goodwill however fraught we get!”
Leon and June were one of the first couples to sign up to Gogglebox when it launched in 2013.
Channel 4 previously paid tribute to Leon, writing: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and #Gogglebox legend Leon.
“We will all miss him so very dearly. Our thoughts are with June and family at his incredibly sad time.”
Since, the retired teachers death there has been an outpouring of tributes from fellow Gogglebox stars, with Scarlett Moffatt describing him as being “cheeky and adored”.
She wrote: “So terribly sorry to hear the dreadful news about Leon!! Our hearts are with June and his family – what a dreadful loss to us all.
“He was so cheeky and adored – the show will never be the same without him #leonliveson huge #Chinchin in his honour.”
While Sandi Bogle sent her condolences to Leon’s family, writing: “Would like to send my condolences to all Leon and June’s family, so sad to hear about his passing. All my love and blessings.”
Leon died aged 83 in hospital yesterday after a short illness, he leaves behind his wife June and their two daughters.
