Gmail will be getting a brand new update next month, as Google roll out a bunch of new features.
The new version of Gmail is scheduled to release next month, though no official date has been announced by Google.
The new update will include features like message snoozing, attachment previews, offline support, confidential messaging and a bunch more.
The new Gmail update will change your account from next month – here’s how.
What will be in the new Gmail update?
Among a whole host of new features, Google will also be changing the Gmail layout in the upcoming update.
The layout is currently available to Early Adopter’s but all G Suite users will be able to use it next month.
Google announced a bunch of new helpful features to the layout in a blog post on their website.
From the start of July, G Suite Admins can transition all Gmail accounts to the new Gmail, letting companies bring all their staff over to the new update straight away.
Users can opt in or out for 12 weeks after that before they are automatically switched.
The confidential mode will allow users to set an expiration date for sensitive emails on their Gmail, sending recipients a link to content rather than the full email to make sure it can be safely deleted.
Email Snoozing will be available on Gmail next month, as well as nudging, which resurfaces emails that require a response or action from the user.
The new feature can be helpful to keep track of emails that are important to you and place them back to the top of your inbox for you to deal with.
You can also preview any new attachments in an email, hovering the mouse over the attachment to open a small box of the content without fully opening it.
Among other visual addition an additional, collapsable side-panel has been added to the right-hand screen of Gmail, integrating Google’ G Suite apps in one handy taskbar.
This can house Google Calendar, Google Keep and Google Tasks all in an easily-accessed bar. Alongside this, a Google Tasks mobile app has been launched on iOS and Android to help you keep track of notes and emails.
Google has also added an offline mode, letting users access, queue up and read emails offline, without access to an internet connection.
This addition is helpful to people who travel frequently and need to access and send messages for when thy next hit a connection.
The new Gmail update will roll out next month.
