Game Of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Samwell Tarly to END the show in fan theory shake-up?

Loyal viewers believe Samwell Tarly (played by John Bradley-West) may well end the show.

Fans predict that he will end up with Gilly (Hannah Murray), and will turn out to have written the whole story of Game of Thrones in an epilogue.

This would refer to his namesake in The Return of the King or Christian Slater in The Name of the Rose.

It would also relate back to a key scene in season seven when Ser Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) penned a heartbreaking letter to Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

Following the harrowing sea battle that ensued in episode two of series seven, Jorah was told by Archmaester Ebrose (Jim Broadbent) that his greyscale couldn’t be cured.

In the Citadel he was instructed that he was going to be sent to Old Valyria to live the rest of his life with the stone men.

However, Jorah wrote one last farewell letter to Daenerys, Khaleesi, as Samwell decided he could cure him by cutting his affected skin off and applying an ointment.

Viewers only managed to get a quick glimpse of his dark shadowy letter, but here’s what we were able to read: “Khaleesi, I went to the Citadel in the last hope that the maesters could treat me as you ordered.

“Even with all [illegible] I am beyond any cure out the grave.

“I have had a longer life than I deserved and I only wish I could’ve lived to see the world you’re going to build, standing by your side.

“I have loved you since the moment I met you. If there’s… [illegible]. Jorah.”

Script leaks have plagued most seasons of Game of Thrones ahead of their official release, with many accurate storylines revealed online.

The final season is no different with many pages of scripts, which are unverified but appear to be real based on previous leaks, circulating on the internet.

Some of the supposed plot lines already leaked include Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and her brother Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) locked in a fierce argument while the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) and the White Walkers attempt to invade King’s Landing.

Actor Peter Dinklage – who portrays Tyrion Lannister in the show – told Variety that season eight was “about halfway through filming” and that it would be a “bittersweet” conclusion.

Referring to the delay, he added: “It’s the final season, and it’s a long one so we’re taking our time.”

will return to Sky Atlantic in 2019.
