Fans left off Jaime (played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) finally appearing to see his sister and mother of his children Cersei Lannister’s (Lena Headey) true colours on season seven of Game of Thrones.
After a momentous meeting between all the major players on the HBO drama – Deanerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) included, it seemed a truce had been made.
While it took much-convincing, the stone-cold Queen Cersei finally agreed to join forces with the King of the North and the Mother of Dragons to get ready for the final fight against the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) and his White Walkers.
Relieved and pleased at his sister’s relenting, Kingslayer Jaime went to see her in her chambers at Kings Landing, hopeful for the next phase of Westeros.
But he was deeply disappointed to learn Cersei had been hiding her true intentions all along, and had secretly sent Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek) to the Iron Bank to betray the other leaders.
Clearly devastated by her treacherous ways yet again, Jaime finally decided he wouldn’t stand by the Queen anymore, and took off on his horse across the lands.
Now one fan has predicted Cersei will eventually murder the father of her children in the hit show’s final six episodes.
Sharing their theory on Reddit, user House Oakheart said: “I’m we watching the entire series and I just watched the scene where Cersei confronts Jamie about letting Tyrion into the city to make a deal.
“As Cersei hugs Jamie, she says, ‘Never betray me again.’”
“The look on his face is interesting, to say the least,” the fan pondered.
Going on to further explain the apparent foreshadowing, the user said: “I feel like this is incredibly foreshadowing, especially regarding the common theory that it will be Jaime who slays the Queen.”
Will Cersei kill Jaime when she learns he has betrayed her for a second time?
Others shared their thoughts on the theory, but many agreed it would be Cersei who takes Jaime’s life on the show.
User MTPF guessed: “Plus Jaime has previous, which he did for the right reason.
“Aerys was going to burn the city, and Cersei may attempt to do something a similar…”
“The fact that she blew up the sept should have been enough for him to axe her,” Neptune227 chimed in. “I don’t think she’s really pregnant.”
While fat_amiee mused: “I think Jamie will kill the queen but by proximate cause. I predict that she will die in childbirth.
“All the gold in the world and all the mercenaries in the seven kingdoms couldn’t protect her from that death. It will also be poetic justice to Tyrion who was said to have killed his mother just by being born.”
