Game of Thrones season 8: Ser Davos actor drops HUGE hint over length of episodes

To the disappointment of fans, it was previously announced the final instalment in the hit HBO series would feature six episodes compared to the usual ten.

However, it isn’t all bad news as Liam, who plays Ser Davos Seaworthy in the fantasy epic, admitted the eighth season could feature the longest episodes yet.

And with season seven’s finale coming in at 80 minutes, Game of Thrones fans could be seeing a lot more than they thought of their fan favourite characters.

Liam told TV Guide: “[The episodes are] definitely going to be bigger and what I hear is longer.”

But although the British star revealed the episodes will be supersized, he hinted viewers will have to wait a while until the season airs.

He continued: “We’re filming right up until the summer. When you think about it, up until last season we’d have six months to do ten episodes, so we’re [doing] way more than that for six episodes. So that obviously will translate into longer episodes.”

Liam’s major revelations come after Ser Jorah star Iain Glen told crowds at Comic-Con Stockholm that the first read through will be happening on October 9.

The 56-year-old also explained why the final season’s shoot may take longer than all the others.

“We’re all starting to be in the same storylines and so they can’t [have two filming units] anymore.

“I think this last season will take much longer to shoot because they can only use one unit because we’re all in the same sort of scenes.”

John Bradley, who stars as Samwell Tarly, recently promised fans every episode in the final season will be “monumental”.

Game of Thrones season eight is expected to return to screens in 2019.
