Game of Thrones favourite, Tyrion (played by Peter Dinklage), is widely considered to be one of the smartest characters on the HBO show.
Last season saw Tyrion head to see his big sister, Cersei (Lena Headey), with a wight in tow.
He appeared to be trying to convince her to join his current boss Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in the fight against the Night King (Vladimir Furdik).
At the time, many thought the move was stupid – he was risking the lives of many to try and win impenetrable Cersei over.
However, Reddit user pntslngr has a theory explaining the bold strategy, believing it was actually for the sake of Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
They wrote: “Maybe he knew full well it wouldn’t convince Cersei.
“What if the plan all along was to undermine Jaime’s relationship with Cersei.
“He knew Jaime would surely be there to see the wight and knows that Jaime is infinitely more reasonable than Cersei is.”
They continue to suggest winning over his brother would prove a “competent field commander” and would destabilise Cersei.
The theory continues to say he hid it from Daenerys and Jon because they might not see the benefit of him at the moment.
“Remember Jaime helped Varys [Conleth Hill] save Tyrion’s life by freeing him from the Red Keep,” it went on.
The blog post added: “Tyrion might be trying to do the same for Jaime. Tyron also uniquely understands the repercussions of removing Jaime from Cersei’s life.”
Will Tyrion’s big plan work? Or will Jaime forever be doomed to stay with Cersei?
Yesterday, a new poster emerged suggesting what it would look like if Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) were to kill Cersei.
A mocked up picture showed the northern hero holding a knife to the current Iron Throne owner’s throat – but will that prediction come true?
Game of Thrones will return to Sky Atlantic in 2019.
