Fans of the HBO drama eagerly await every tiny morsel of information about show’s final filming, but the latest news is huge following a week of various celebrity sightings in Spanish town Seville.
The ruins of Italica have been serving as an enormous “Dragonpit” set, which is likely to see a huge battle scene during Game of Thrones’ final season.
Lena Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister was spotted earlier this week arriving in the country.
The actress then posted a jokey romantic snap of her and her co-star Conleth Hill (Lord Varys).
But while Lena could simply have been having dinner and enjoying a night out with her friends from the production, there have been other sightings in the meantime.
Now Spanish-language fansite Los Siete Reinos has revealed filming in Italica has finished for all the main cast members.
According to fellow site Winter is Coming, the shooting schedule wasn’t due to complete until Friday, so it seems the production managed to speed things along.
While it’s not confirmed exactly who was involved in the Dragonpit scenes, it was reported Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) were on-set at the end of the shoot.
Surely that means Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) was involved at some stage too? Or has the Mother of Dragons split from her group by this point?
The English actress has been promoting her upcoming film Solo: A Star Wars Movie of late, so she may have simply not had the time to join in.
But in that case, will Daenerys be edited in to already-filmed scenes instead?
The UK website then spotted an Instagram photo from a crew member showing a whole host of other Unsullied soldiers on the set.
The caption read: “We can say: We have finished shooting the last season of…GAME OF THRONES!”
The photo, which had a location listed as the “Amphitheater of Italica”, has subsequently been taken down, which could hint at a swift attempt to hide any potential spoilers from eagle-eyed fans.
What’s more, various other stars of the show were spotted at a London Airport following the crew member’s announcement.
Presumably having travelled back from Spain, actors Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and Kit were all queueing up together.
John Bradley (Sam Tarly) could also be seen from the back wearing an inconspicuous baseball cap.
There were others in the group, but it’s difficult to tell if they’re important to the show from the angle of the shot.
The image was posted by Jamie Bloyce-Hykel, who captioned it: “When you land back in the UK to find yourself within complete nerd out distance of a HUGE number of #GameOfThrones cast! (Photo stolen from Gemma Bloyce).”
Game of Thrones will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019.
