Game of Thrones season 8 filming: When does filming finish on Game of Thrones season 8?

When does filming finish on Game of Thrones season 8?

While HBO is unlikely to make its production schedule public, filming on season eight has been taking place for quite some time now.

However, Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham seemed to suggest that the filming schedule would be coming to an end in the summer after he revealed: “[The episodes are] definitely going to be bigger and what I hear is longer.

“We’re filming right up until the summer. When you think about it, up until last season we’d have six months to do 10 episodes, so we’re [doing] way more than that for six episodes.”

He added to TV Guide: “So that obviously will translate into longer episodes.”

It seems likely that filming is nearing the end and will be wrapped up potentially in summer.

WHEN WILL GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8 BE RELEASED?

It was accidentally revealed this week that the crew had been working non-stop for 55 days on the biggest battle scene ever in the history of the show.

Now recent reports from Los Siete Reinos have suggested that filming on the Dragonpit are set to be “brought forward and extended”.

The Dragonpit was featured in season seven and saw an almighty meeting of Game of Thrones characters.

According to the reports, Game of Thrones is going to be returning to the Roman ruins of Itálica in Seville, Spain.

Work on the new Dragonpit scenes are set to be taking place from April 23 until May 28, and it looks like it could be a key moment in season eight.

It looks like season eight started in late 2017 when a cast read through took place in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Cunningham revealed that it was an emotional moment for him and the other crew members.

WILL THE GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8 RELEASED DATE BE BROUGHT FORWARD?

Since then, there’s been numerous sightings of cast members shooting in various locations around the world.

There’s been a lot of activity at Game of Thrones’ base in Belfast at the Titanic Studios with extensive night shoots taking place and fans even spotted the Winterfell set on fire.

At the Winterfell set, which is located in Moneyglass, some people spotted the Night King (played by Vladimir Furdik), the Hound (Rory McCann) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington).

Earlier this year Lena Headey was pictured filming in Dubrovnik, Croatia which has served as the capital of Westeros: King’s Landing.

She was seen filming with Harington, suggesting that the two characters are going to be interacting quite a lot.

Also, Emilia Clarke was seen shooting scenes with Harington which again suggest that a bulk of the filming has been done already.

HAS THE SCRIPT FOR GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8 BEEN LEAKED?

When will Game of Thrones season 8 be released?

It’s the million dollar question but beyond 2019, Game of Thrones fans have got nothing further.

The majority of previous seasons of Game of Thrones have premiered in April, so it would make sense for the final run to air at a similar time.

There were also false reports that Maisie Williams had confirmed Game of Thrones season eight would be airing in April, which she later denied.

However, season eight could possibly be released later than April as was the case for the previous cycle which aired in July 2017.

Game of Thrones season 8 is be released in 2019
