Game of Thrones’ Euron Greyjoy (played by Pilou) was only introduced in season six of the hit HBO show and was a very terrifying villain from the get go.
Instantly depicted as the psychotic uncle of Theon (Alfie Allen) and Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan), Euron quickly showed viewers he wasn’t one to be trifled with.
His worst move came when he attacked the Greyjoy ship and kidnapped his niece amid a killing spree that saw plenty of blood shed.
Still suffering from the torture he received at the hands of Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) Theon was unable to save his sister and later vowed at the end of season seven he would rescue her by whatever means necessary.
Euron was last seen attempting to build an alliance with Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).
In a surprising manoeuvre he even revealed he was intent on making her his bride amid the war against the White Walkers.
But Cersei had no true intention of sharing her life with the twisted thug and was playing her own games.
While fans wait for the resolution to the Greyjoys’ story in season eight, actor Pilou happily “promised” a satisfying ending.
While working on various projects, Pilou shared his feelings from Spanish island Mallorca.
He said: “Usually, when we record the series, we need six months to do 10 episodes.
“This time we needed 10 months to record six episodes,” he told IB3TV.
The star added cheekily: “Honestly, I can promise that this season will be spectacular.”
Coincidentally or not, the show is currently gearing up for production on location in Italica on the Spanish mainland, which is not too far away from Mallorca.
Is it a stretch to predict Pilou will be headed there next?
Meanwhile, Daenerys Targaryen actress Emilia Clarke shared her woes about the reality of being “a walking spoiler”.
Lamenting her troubles, she revealed she has to have two Instagram accounts to prevent hungry fans from learning any information about the show.
“This is my public account,” she said, referring to the one where she posts to 16.8 million followers.
The Me Before You star continued: “I created another, very secret account in which post scenes from my life that are relevant or fun for me and my closest friends.
“I learned to live with the idea that secrecy is the soul of my business,” she added.
Emilia also admitted leaving Game of Thrones behind will “not be easy,” since she’s become close friends to so many of her co-stars.
Game of Thrones season eight will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019.
