Game of Thrones season 7: This is the REAL reason Jaime Lannister attacked Daenerys

When Daenerys’ (played by Emilia Clarke) dragon Drogon was hit by an arrow and fell to the ground, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) took the opportunity to stop the Khaleesi from harming the Lannister army even more by charging towards her.

While he intended to kill the Mother of Dragons, she was protected by Drogon who turned his head and breathed fire at him.

But as he was knocked into Blackwater Rush, where he was last seen.

Now, a fan of the hit HBO series has revealed exactly why Jaime charged at the young Queen and why he would want her dead.

YouTuber Shahan Reviews, made a compilation video that explains why Jaime would not want to see Daenerys rule Westeros – and it has something to do with her father The Mad King Aerys (David Rintoul).

Using flashbacks from previous seasons, Jaime can be seen telling the late Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy), Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and Ned Stark (Sean Bean) why he murdered Aerys Targaryen.

Speaking to Robert about the moment he stabbed the Mad King in the back, he recalled: “He said the same thing he’d been saying for hours: ‘burn them all’.”

And in a later conversation with Brienne, he added: “He told me to bring him my father’s head. Then he turned to his pyromancers. ‘Burn them all,’ he said.

“‘Burn them in their homes. Burn them in their beds. Burn them all’, he kept saying. ‘Burn them all’.”

It seems that watching Daenerys and her dragon chargrill the Lannister army reminded Jaime of her father’s love of fire and burning the lords and ladies of the Seven Kingdoms.

It also explains why he believes it would make sense to stop his daughter from doing the same thing.

continues on HBO this Sunday in the US and will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic on Monday at 2am. Catch up on seasons one to seven on NOW TV.
