Game of Thrones season 7 REVELATION: Gilly ACCIDENTALLY confirms who will rule Westeros

As innocent Gilly (played by Hannah Murray) and Samwell Tarly (John Bradley-West) were sitting around, the former became engrossed in the diary of High Septon Maynard.

She asked Sam: “What does annulment mean?” as she carried on her plight to learn how to read.

Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) friend told her, much to his annoyance, that it is when a marriage comes to an end.

Clearly still feeling inquisitive, Gilly began to describe Rhaehar Targaryen’s very significant annulment, going on to explain that the Prince married someone else in a private ceremony in Dorne.

Although Sam ignored the outburst, furious that he is left scribing stupid little facts, viewers completely lost it as Gilly may have just uncovered the real truth behind Jon’s parents.

Most likely, what the hapless heroine discovered was the secret marriage between Daenerys’s (Emilia Clarke) brother, Rhaegar, and his true love, Lyanna Stark (Aisling Franciosi).

This, therefore, would confirm that Jon is actually not a bastard child, but is in fact legitimate and the true heir to the Iron Throne.

As a male, Jon would even trump Daenerys’ claim as the rightful ruler and would silence the mother of dragons once and for all.

However, with Samwell ignoring Gilly’s huge revelation, will the truth ever get back to Jon?

Viewers (and Daenerys) also witnessed the hunky King of the North getting up close to one of the show’s dragons.

Although it seems insignificant, the fiery beasts seem to only trust Targaryen blood, therefore confirming Jon’s parentage once again.

Game of Thrones continues on HBO next Monday at 9pm in the US and will be simulcast at 2am on Sky Atlantic in the UK. Catch up with seasons one to six on NOW TV.
