Game of Thrones: Jon Snow’s fate sealed by massive mistake – did you spot this?

Game of Thrones left viewers utterly shocked in the final episodes of the series, leaving many favourites denied of the fate they deserved.

After a huge conquest alongside his queen, Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) eventually killed Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

This, obviously, was a controversial move, and left almost the entirety of Westeros furious at the warrior.

However, fans of the show have been theorising over how Jon could have avoided being sent off to the Wall after his brutal murder.

One fan on Reddit suggested: “If Jon pressed his claims immediately after killing Dany, would he be King or would he still face trial/be imprisoned for killing the Queen?”

As fans will no-doubt remember, Jon revealed the truth about his lineage back in the second episode of season eight.

After it was announced he was a true Targaryen, Daenerys wasn’t too happy about his higher claim to the throne.

Despite this, he didn’t attempt to steal the power from Daenerys, leaving her to become the Mad Queen, and needing to be killed by Jon anyway.

The Redactor’s argument suggests Jon could have revealed the truth after Daenerys’s death and become king, as well as stayed out of imprisonment.

However user Pinhy had other ideas, saying: “The Dothraki and Unsullied would want war.

“Them, and a lot of others, would believe he killed her just to be king. Might not look good.

“Had Tyrion [Peter Dinklage] or Sansa [Sophie Turner] brought it up at the meeting, maybe a different story there.”

While another agreed: “He’d likely be king, but it’d immediately be war.

“Not a good look, especially for someone who doesn’t want to be king in the first place.”

With many of the Northern men behind Jon, he may have been able to take over the realm of Westeros, whether he wanted to or not.

Jon may have never been able to become king, however, as an apparent Night King (Vladimir Furdik) battle was cut out of the show.

According to director Miguel Sapochnik on a recent podcast, the Night King originally had a huge fight planned out.

When the Night King eventually met Jon in the show, he simply walked away, but viewers could have seen the titans go head-to-head if the original script had come to pass.

Fans may, however, see the Night King take on a big fight in the upcoming prequel of the show, which he is rumoured to be starring in.
