Tonight has seen the return of the dreaded Fortnite Waiting in Queue error message.
“My game worked on the switch until like 30 min ago, and it just keeps saying “waiting in queue”, and there’s a timer that just keeps restarting,” one user writes.
Epic Games has confirmed that problems have affected matchmaking in Battle Royale mode and are now looking into fixing the problem.
As many will already know, being left to queue in Fortnite means not being able to connect to live games.
This can also extend to players not being able to log in to their accounts and do anything but wait.
“We are investigating an issue causing some players to encounter a problem with game services and when attempting to log in,” is the latest update from Epic Games.
From what has been posted on the official Epic Games server status site, both login and matchmaking services have been reduced to a degraded performance level.
There has been an earlier outage affecting the PlayStation Network, so this might be another factor for PS4 gamers.
However, if this problem continues on all platforms, players can expect an update from Epic Games in the near future.
For those looking for a fix to help skip the queue, there probably isn’t one for now.
This is a problem with the servers and is likely being used to stop further problems being created by a surge in network numbers.
