Fans will have to download a new patch tomorrow, March 29, which will include a range of new bugfixes and items.
Fortnite update 3.4 will be launched tomorrow, meaning scheduled downtime for servers.
And unfortunately for fans, Epic Games has confirmed that this time they will need extra time to perform this task.
“We are targeting a 4am ET (8 GMT) release on March 29 for the v3.4 update. There will be extended downtime for this update.”
Fortnite downtime, ahead of a patch launching, tends to last for around two to three hours.
Servers are usually back online by midday in the UK on the day of a Fortnite patch release.
So this could mean that Fortnite fans will be locked out of the game for even longer.
It’s unclear if players will be kicked out of games 20 minutes ahead of time, although this is something that has happened in the past.
It’s expected that Epic Games will release the new patch notes following the launch of the game’s next update too.
From what we know already, it looks like at least one new weapons is being launched this week.
The Fortnite guided missile has just been revealed by Epic Games, with the new Battle Royale weapon heading to PS4, Xbox One and Fortnite Mobile.
The official Fortnite Twitter account published a short teaser trailer today announcing the brand new weapon.
A release date for the Fortnite guided missile has not been announced, but Epic Games tend to release big Fortnite updates on Thursdays.
There will also be new challenges for Fortnite players looking to complete their Battle Pass.
Epic Games have not said what the new challenges will be, although Season 3 has usually included a mix of things to do.
There will probably be at least two geographical challenges, asking players to find certain areas on the map.
There will be the usual elimination quests, which may also include players to doing this in certain locales.
Fortnite season 3 replaced the previous season’s daily challenges with weekly ones, and it’s proved to be a great hit among fans.
Each week a new set of seven Battle Pass challenges unlock, with fans needing to complete any four of those to be rewarded with 4,000 XP.
The challenges are separated into hard difficulty tasks and regular difficulty ones.
The hard difficulty Fortnite challenges will net players 10 Battle Stars, while the others will reward fans with five Battle Stars.
