Fortnite news – Epic Games teases next LTM to follow Blitz mode in Battle Royale

is getting a new limited time mode (LTM) in an upcoming update that will replace the current Blitz mode for Battle Royale.

The Blitz mode went live in Fortnite Battle Royale on PS4, Xbox One, Fortnite Mobile, PCs and Macs yesterday.

Fortnite’s week long Blitz mode is designed around shorter, more intense matches.

Fortnite Battle Royale matches start with the storm circle already closing in on the island, so there’s no time to waste.

Likewise, Fortnite fans will only have a maximum of 15 minutes to complete games.

Fortnite players are only just getting to grips with what the Blitz mode has to offer, but already they’re being teased about the next LTM.

In a post on the Fortnite Battle Royale Reddit, one fan called on Epic Games to make Blitz a permanent mode in the game.

The Fortnite fan said Blitz mode was a “masterpiece” and tried to start an #ExtendBlitz hashtag to campaign on making it permanent.

But responding to the request, Epic Games community co-ordinator and Redditor arctcyczyn said they couldn’t promise an extension.

They said: “Good to see lots of you having fun!

“Can’t promise we’ll extend the mode, but I can pass along the suggestion. As most of you know we can (and do) bring back LTMs that you all enjoy.

“So we can definitely rotate it in.

“Besides… I think many of you will likely like the next LTM planned”.

It’s unclear what new limited time mode the Fortnite community co-ordinator is teasing.

Epic Games had previously said that they had a floor is lava LTM in the works for Fortnite.

While another upcoming update that Fortnite fans know is in the works is the new jetpack item.

This was already meant to have been released, but the jetpack was delayed due to a “last minute design issue”.

Datamining efforts have also claimed that the jetpack could be part of an upcoming LTM called Fortnite Take to The Skies.

And seeing that it’s been three weeks since the jetpack was first announced, it is possible the “design issue” has now been ironed out.

If so, then it could be taking front and centre of the next Fortnite LTM.

In other Fortnite news, it’s been revealed Epic Games are making changes to the Fortnite Blitz mode.

In a Reddit post on Tuesday, Fortnite community co-ordinator JustMooney1 said: “Today, we will be hotfixing the Blitz Limited Time Mode in order to lower the amount of building resources gained from floor loot and farming.

“Having tons of resources is a blast, and our goal with the mode was to make it easier to gain resources due to the storm moving in so much faster.

“We believe that our initial resource numbers were a bit too abundant, and are making this adjustment to ensure there is still some risk/reward when farming in Blitz.”

Epic said these changes were being implemented:

• Floor loot resources reduced from 100 to 60.

• Farming resources increase reduced from 200% to 150%.

They added that the Fortnite team will: “continue to monitor this, please keep giving us your feedback!”
