Foo Fighters and Rick Astley Rickroll with Grunge version of Never Gonna Give You Up WATCH

Back in 2008, a new internet prank emerged which involved an unexpected appearance of the 1987 music video for Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up.

Internet users would click on a link to unrelated content and end up on the music video.

Now dubbed Rickrolling, the prank has seen Astley himself randomly perform renditions of the hit song unexpectedly, like the 2008 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.

His latest took place yesterday at Tokyo’s Summer Sonic festival with Dave Grohl’s Foo Fighters.

Meanwhile his ex-drummer William Goldsmith lashed out this summer calling Grohl a “school bully” after feeling he was left “creatively raped”.

Foo Fighters’ new album Concrete & God is released on September 15, 2017.
