Fallout 76 release date news latest as exciting New Vegas mod prepares for launch

Having only just learnt about Bethesda’s next big game, there’s still a lot about it that remains shrouded in mystery.

The Fallout 76 release date has not been announced, although fans won’t have to wait long to find out.

This will be announced during Bethesda’s upcoming E3 2018 conference, which is scheduled for Sunday, June 10.

Because of the time zone differences, UK fans will actually be tuning in at around 2:30am, on Monday June 11.

From the small hints and clues left by Bethesda, fans are hoping they may be looking at a 2018 release for the new game.

Fallout 76 could follow the same format as Fallout 4’s announcement, with Bethesda revealing the game during their E3 conference, before announcing a launch date set for later that year.

It was a big surprise for fans in 2015, and it seems likely that Bethesda will follow suit with Fallout 76.

Pre-order pages for the game are already going live, sporting placeholder date for next year.

However, as these are hard to trust at the best of times, it’s probably just worth noting that these are available to use now, in 2018.

There there is some of the clues that can be found in the new Fallout 76 trailer.

Away from the overbearing hints that the game will be based around rebuilding the world, there were a couple of others things of note.

The new footage shows a character getting ready to leave Vault 76, and begin their mission back on the surface.

The date on the person’s Pip-Boy is October 27, 2101, which makes this one of the earlier Fallout games ever.

It could also be a nod to the actual Fallout 76 release date, although this is pure speculation at this time.

There are also references in the trailer to the Halloween season, although this is probably more in line with the time of year in the game, rather than another Easter egg.

As mentioned above, Bethesda will announce the release date during E3 2018, and will probably make this one of the most watched livestreams of the expo.

It follows news that a massive new mod is being released this year for Fallout New Vegas.

So if Bethesda does surprise everyone with a 2019 date for Fallout 76, you could at least fill the time with this new adventure.

The Fallout: New California mod has been in the works for sometime and will finally see its release on October 23, 2018.

It functions as a prequel to the popular Obsidian game and starts in LA.

For those wondering why the ambitious project is ready to play yet, here more from the team, who confirm: “Because something is missing — and all the testing guys noticed — is side quests.

“Again, not the end of the world, but you hit this story with huge replete branches 16,000 lines of dialogue deep and you expect some little moments with characters off to the side of the big arcs, and there just aren’t that many of note.

“Again, because there was no one to code it! I’d also like to take time to revise some plot holes and gaps in the open possibilities that appeared in testing, and more streamlined opportunities for branches that aren’t so hidden in past decisions that you’re locked into a tunnel til the next major turn.

“So we will code that ourselves the hard way, and provide a lot more support in optimizing the engine side of things. Our art is just running up against the limits of what this old engine can do. We need source code.

“Or, we need to do tedious work to work around limitations on both low end systems and high end ones that can handle all the pretty stuff at 60fps.”
