F1 Japanese Grand Prix LIVE STREAM: How to watch Formula One from Suzuka live online

Formula One is back with the world’s best drivers about to face off at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Mercedes star and championship leader Lewis Hamilton will be looking to extend his lead at the top of the summit after qualifying on pole.

And the Brit, who is chasing his fifth world title, will be boosted as big rival Sebastian Vettel is starting eighth on the grid.

The Ferrari driver was left struggling in Q3 on Saturday after being sent out on intermediate tyres in dry conditions.

And then when he returned to put on slicks the four-time world champion made a mistake on his sole flying lap on dry tyres.

It’s another blow for Vettel as he looks to make a dent in the 50 point lead Hamilton has with just five races remaining.

Speaking after qualifying, Hamilton said: “The team have done an amazing job all weekend.

“The call at the start of Q3 was probably the most difficult call.

“And that gave us the chance to get pole position.

“It’s my 80th and I can’t believe I’ve got 80.

“We have worked so hard to refine and improve this car and the same for ourselves on the way we work as a team.

“I am so proud to be on this journey with them.

“Every team has smart people, but it is about how you perform together under pressure.”

While Vettel said: “I made a mistake in Spoon and the second run we didn’t get out in time.

“This is not the position we deserve to be in.”
