Endeavour season 5, episode 6 trailer: What will happen in the series 6 final?

What will happen in Endeavour season 5, episode 6?

The final instalment of the latest season of Endeavour airs this weekend.

The finale will air on ITV at 8pm Sunday March 11.

The long-running spin off series is the latest in the Inspector Morse prequel and this season sees acclaimed actor Shaun Evans return as the recently promoted Detective Sergeant Endeavour Morse.

The sixth and last episode is titled Icarus and ITV have released an extended promo clip ahead of the broadcast.

WHO IS IN THE CAST OF ENDEAVOUR SEASON 5?

A synopsis for the episode reads: “After the mysterious disappearance of a teacher, Endeavour finds himself undercover, investigating the dark and secret world of a public school.

“When a body is unexpectedly discovered, Endeavour has to question who he can trust – and uncover the truth about the crimes before more people are hurt.

“Meanwhile, with news that Cowley Station is due to close, Thursday (played by Roger Allam) is determined to solve the ongoing unsolved murders linked to Eddie Nero, and charges Fancy (Lewis Peek) with tracking down the elusive Cromwell Ames.

“But when the investigation ends in disaster, Cowley CID find a surprising link to Endeavour’s investigation at the public school.

WHERE WAS ENDEAVOUR SEASON 5 FILMED?

“In the shadow of the tragedy, Endeavour and Thursday find some unexpected answers to their cases.”

This season was the series’ longest yet at six episodes.

“We’ve made six feature length films this time and kept the quality of the work up. That, in itself, is cause for celebration,” Shaun Evans said.

Will there be another season of Endeavour?

There is no world on another season just yet.

Endeavour is the prequel to the long running Inspector Morse series which ran for several years so perhaps this adaptation will follow suit and run for a long time.

Shaun Evans has even hinted at the show’s continuation.

“This series definitely sets up more for a return. There are lots of questions to answer, but there are lots of factors involved so you just take this job one day at a time,” he said.

“I’ve been very lucky to play this role. I’m amazed we’ve done so many so far. I feel very grateful that Endeavour is still popular and doing well. I’m also very grateful to have the opportunity to work with some incredible people.

“If we’re lucky enough to do some more, and we all want to, that’s great. But, if not, we’re all very proud of the series.”

Endeavour airs Sunday night at 8pm on ITV
