Rebecca (played by Emily Head) was stunned to see supposed businesswoman Kath on a shopping channel, and as the pieces fell into place, the betrayed blonde exploded at Robert (Ryan Hawley) for his web of lies.
While Robert attempted to wriggle his way out of the situation, his hopes for a family and becoming a changed man sank in one foul swoop on the ITV soap.
As Rebecca demanded he sign the Rug Tree Bond shares back to the family company, Robert answered easily: “Ok, right, it’s all about Seb from now on anyway. Bex, it’s all that matters to me – I mean it.”
But an apology wasn’t going to fix his despicable actions that easily, and Rebecca declared: “And then you can leave, and never set foot anywhere near me or my son ever again. Do you understand?
“Say goodbye. Because as far as I’m concerned, you’re not this boy’s father and you never will be.”
While a horrified Robert may be back to his old tricks following Rebecca’s devastating warning, the White family have bigger problems to worry about since it appears that troubled teenager Lachlan (Thomas Atkinson) might have attempted suicide.
As Rebecca geared up to spill the truth on Robert’s sinister activities to her sister Chrissie White (Louise Marwood) and father Lawrence (John Bowe), the pair broke the upsetting news.
Realising that adding Robert’s actions into the mix could send Chrissie “over the edge”, Rebecca decided to handle the situation herself.
Will Lachlan’s “death” be the catalyst for the White family’s mass exit over the coming weeks? Or will Robert’s storyline development mean that something else is in the works?
