Emmerdale’s resident bad boy, Lachlan (Thomas Atkinson), has found himself in a bit of a corner in recent episodes.
The village villain was arrested for his crimes, but not before he confessed to his girlfriend, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), who was shocked to learn what her boyfriend really is.
However, it seemed as though he wasn’t done with his criminal ways just yet as he proceeded to kidnap Belle in what viewers were led to believe was a last ditch effort to bring her on his side.
Yet, there may be another twist in the Emmerdale tale.
A fan has revealed their theory regarding what Lachlan’s real motives are for his many murders.
“I would like to see a major twist,” began footballworldwide00 on Instagram, who was commenting on one of Emmerdale’s pictures.
“Like Lachlan lied and he was told to kill these people to protect his true intentions of getting closer to the Dingle family, and that someone he was working with in burying this Tozer bloke was actually in charge just to get revenge on Belle and the Dingles.”
This would make for a shocking twist and bring in a new side to Lachlan’s character.
Lachlan recently revealed to Belle the reason why he caused the car crash which killed his mother and father.
He claimed that it was because she wanted to take him away from her and that he did everything so that he could be with Belle.
Robert knocked on the door of the cottage in the middle of the couple’s tense getaway and seizing the opportunity, Belle cried out in anguish.
“Help! Someone help me, please!” she begged, as Lachlan dragged her kicking and screaming into the other room.
“You keep your mouth shut,” Lachlan warned, and luckily Robert could hear what’s going on.
Robert managed to hide, but things took a turn for the worse when Lachlan loaded up Zak Dingle’s (Steve Halliwell) shotgun.
Robert accidentally kicked something with his foot, alerting Lachlan to his presence. Robert then went to hide in a closed shed, yet despite the potential danger to his life, Robert escaped unharmed.
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
