Viewers will remember that Emmerdale threw a huge spanner in the works by revealing that psychopath Emma’s (played by Gillian Kearney) killer was actually the beloved Moira (Natalie J. Robb).
There were some harrowing times ahead for the character on the ITV soap, especially when Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) found out the truth and convinced her son Adam Barton (Adam Thomas) to take the fall.
Yet after some trying weeks for everyone involved, it seemed that fears for Moira’s future in the Dales were done and dusted when Emma’s sons Ross (Michael Parr) and Pete (Anthony Quinlan) made their peace and agreed to keep her horrific secret.
Now though, a strange turn of events has seen ex-cast member Joe appear to let slip what’s next in the mother-of-three’s storyline.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, the actor teased: “Well, you never know what’s going to come back and bite you on the bum do you?
“I’m sure that’ll be at the back of people’s minds. And obviously we know that things do come back to bite people.”
The 24-year-old went on to say that the sheer amount of people in the know about Moira’s dark secret is sure to provide a problem when it comes to keeping it from the police eventually.
“There’s a lot of people that know about Moira killing Emma, including Harriet [Finch] and Emma’s sons,” he continued. “So there’s every possibility that it could come back on her.”
It seems that Moira will eventually manage to atone for her sins by getting involved in someone else’s troubles. Could it be her partner Cain’s daughter Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb)?
Joe revealed: “You never know, Moira just might redeem herself by saving someone else’s life. You don’t know.”
Finn was killed in a tragic twist when Emma was convinced a foreign presence was after her in the forest during her final episodes.
Hearing movement, Emma panicked and fired a shot through the darkness but was absolutely broken when she realised it was her youngest son.
Since Finn and Emma’s death, Ross has faced an entirely new trauma when he was the victim of a horrific acid attack at the hands of drug dealer Simon McManus.
This week’s scenes have finally seen billionaire villain Joseph Tate (Ned Porteous) find out that his ex-girlfriend Debbie was behind the sick violence, so is Debbie’s number finally up?
Or will Moira and Cain save the day yet again?
