Emmerdale viewers were given a double bill tonight as scenes showed Maya Stepney (played by Louisa Clein) and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) fall out once again.
In a scene aired tonight, an emotional Maya decided to take drastic action and in a panic stricken state left Jacob a worrying voicemail.
Through tears, the school teacher said: “Ok I get it Jake, you’re blanking me. I just wanted to say goodbye.
“I’m leaving, Jake, I’m scared. I’m sacred you’re going to go public, of losing my job, of people hating me.
“I’ll just tell Jessie [Grant] it’s a family emergency,i’ll hand in my notice and i’ll start somewhere new. I’m so sorry that it had to end like this.”
And with that she hung up and frantically started packing her bags, but as she went to reach a bag off the top of her wardrobe, she mistook her footing and ended up crashing into her desk.
Blood pouring from her head, she was rushed to hopsital for emergency care.
And fans flocked to Twitter to discuss what could happen next in Maya and Jacob’s grooming storyline.
Final scenes of the episode saw the pair make up with one another as well as Jacob confessing his love for Maya.
And whilst it was a close call for David Meltcafe (Matthew Wolfenden) finding out about their forbidden affair, it seems he will begin to question what is really going on.
