Emmerdale will soon welcome Mandy Dingle (played by Lisa Riley) back onto screens.
The beloved character will return to the village for a brief period to celebrate a big wedding.
Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and his new spouse Jessie (Sandra Marvin) will have to tie the knot legally after their ceremony previously didn’t go to plan.
Much to everyone’s surprise, Mandy – who hasn’t been seen on the ITV soap for 17 years – arrives just in time for the nuptials.
Lisa’s return has been kept under tight wraps but it seems some details have started to trickle out.
Mandy’s arrival will be particularly shocking for Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), who used to be married to her.
He is completely stunned to discover she has a 16-year-old son.
A simple bit of maths reveals it could actually be Paddy’s child.
Speaking about her return, Lisa spilled on what’s happened to Mandy over the years.
“She’s still in Southhampton and something has happened to her,” she said.
Lisa continued: “She has a child called Vinnie.
“They are very similar which is really nice and gives a lot of scope.
“She’s been very happy and has a bit of money now, so she’s not as downtrodden as she was.
“She’s also a little bit more glamorous than the mismatch she was before.”
Lisa remained tight-lipped on why Mandy chose now to come back, but hinted it could be to do with Paddy.
When asked if Mandy still loves Paddy, she teased: “I can’t say.
“I don’t want to give that away, I think that would ruin it for everybody.
“That’s going to be a nice surprise. Even my dad’s asking me: ‘What’s happening with you and Paddy?’
This comes as Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) will be stabbed in Woolpack drama.
Emmerdale continues tonight on ITV at 7pm.
