The headteacher was the victim of an armed siege in her own home on the ITV soap in last night’s terrifying double bill.
It all came about as Max (Jordan Reece) sought revenge on Jessie’s (Sandra Marvin) son Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle).
However, the troubled Emmerdale character wasn’t home so it was Jessie, Marlon (Mark Charnock) and his daughter April (Amelia Flanagan) who were caught up in the ordeal and held at gunpoint.
After an altercation when Billy returned home, Jessie fell into Marlon’s arms and was taken off in ambulance but her fate remained unclear.
Now, actress behind the role, Sandra Marvin, has spoken about the scene on Twitter.
“Oh Jessie! Thank you for your messages following tonight’s #Emmerdale … And yes Amelia Flannigan @pinkferg84 is an absolute star! Such an amazingly talented young lady! So much love for her @emmerdale xxx,” she wrote to her followers.
But could Sandra’s message thanking fans for their support signal that Jessie is gone for good?
Viewers will have to wait and see if she manages to pull through the horrific ordeal.
The shooting unfolded after Max forced Jessie to get Billy to come back to the house.
When he arrived, he helped young April escape as armed police surrounded the building.
Billy tried his best to reason with Max and the pair began to struggle.
He got the gun off Max and then set about delivering a brutal beating.
Poor Jessie was horrified and told him to stop before the situation escalated and she was shot.
Meanwhile, Billy could’ve got Max out of his life for good as he had the chance to kill him then and there, but before he could the police burst through the door.
Jessie was then carted off into an ambulance and Marlon was left distraught.
Elsewhere in the village, it looks like one couple will be splitting up following a major betrayal.
Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter) and Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) have seen their relationship blossom in recent months but it seems as though the end is near.
The arrival of Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) caused some degree of tension and it will get too much for Eric next week.
He prepares to fight wrestler Bear in the ring but Faith halts the fight leaving Eric to storm off.
But is it really over for good? Viewers will have to wait and see.
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
