Emmerdale spoilers: Fans expose truth behind Eliza's bruises with VERY unlikely culprit

Last week spoilers revealed that Priya Sharma (played by Fiona Wade) was about to become accused of child abuse on Emmerdale in a harrowing new storyline.

The harrowing plot kicked off on the ITV soap last week with Priya’s day from hell, which resulted in her losing her temper against her own daughter Amba and brother Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) toddler Eliza.

Having struggled to cope with some difficult customers at work and the knowledge that Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan) had moved on with Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), Priya’s patience finally expired and she lashed out at the children.

Unable to force the youngsters to eat their dinner, Priya ended up launching a bowl of cheesy pasta against the wall and terrorising Eliza in the process, just as her father Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) walked in.

Later, Jai found bruises covering Eliza’s legs, but tonight’s episode Rishi couldn’t hide his suspicions that his own daughter had secretly lost control and hurt the little one, who suffers from cerebral palsy.

While a furore between the family ensued as Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye) panicked that Priya had been responsible for the injuries, viewers took to Twitter and shared their thoughts on the real culprit.

“I think it was Priya and David’s kid did the bruises to Eliza! #Emmerdale,” one person declared.

Another said: “#Emmerdale Wonder if it’s Amba that’s doing it.”

“I bet it ends up being Amba #Emmerdale,” a third agreed, followed by: “Anyone else considering Amba could of been responsible for Eliza injuries #emmerdale.”

Other fans were convinced that there was simply a medical explanation for the worrying sight, as one person claimed: “I’m telling you, she has some condition. To do with the blood. #emmerdale.”

While another person echoed: “#emmerdale There’ll be some blood disorder explanation for the bruises.”

Angry that social services were getting involved without a proper investigation by doctors first, some fans were furious about characters pointing fingers at an upset Priya.

“I honestly don’t believe Pryia did anything. I think it’s all wrong timing and misunderstanding on Rishi’s part. #emmerdale #robron,” one person reasoned.

“FFS, loads of parents lose it and shout at the kids. Doesn’t mean they go on to physically abuse them. Talk about jumping to conclusions Rishi,” another added.

Begging her family and Megan to understand as the episode came to a close, Priya insisted: “I would never raise a hand to a child i have a little girl myself.”

“I’m sure there’s a simple explanation,” Jai tried, but the doctors finally decided that until Eliza had been properly examined she would have to stay in the hospital as a matter of safety.

Will the truth reveal that single mother Priya is hiding a terrible secret, or was it really Amba all along?

Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
