Emmerdale fans are eagerly anticipating Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) to reveal his true identity as spoilers have disclosed he isn’t actually Mandy Dingle’s (Lisa Riley) son. But while fans are desperate to know who he really is, it looks like they will have to sit tight.
More twists are set to come as, in typical soap tradition, an identity-uncovering will not fall short of drama.
But will his secret turn out to be darker than expected?
The revelation has left viewers wondering if Vinny’s real mother is one of the ITV soap’s most beloved characters.
Will it be revealed that he’s linked to a well-established resident?
Fans are convinced that Sam Dingle’s (James Hooton) wife Lydia Hart (Karen Blick) could be Vinny’s mum, as she confessed in emotional scenes to a teen pregnancy after the body of her baby was found in the woods.
In a shocking twist, could the baby have been Vinny?

Bradley spilt the beans that his character could become the ITV soap’s next big villain.
Speaking to Inside Soap, he hinted: “Initially we saw him as a bumbling character but there’s a lot more to him than meets the eye and we’ll see his true colours coming out.
“He has different sides to him. While I can’t go into detail, he’s a bit on the dark side and a bit on the funny side.
“He has a lot of personalities, but he chooses which one he plays.”
With this in mind, could the Dingle’s be in danger as Vinny’s secret is exposed?
Elsewhere in the Dales poor Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) was left heartbroken as scenes that aired last night showed Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) get handed a life sentence for the murder of Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie).
Aaron and Victoria Barton (Isobel Hodgins) watched as Robert pleaded guilty and was served the devastating news.
Summing up the case after Robert’s plea, the judge said: “This was a senseless act of pure violence. Your actions clearly were not in self-defence.
“There is only one sentence I can give you, Mr Sugden, and that is life imprisonment. I fix the term at 14 years. You will not be considered for parole until you have served the full amount of that term.”
Aaron had to be restrained by Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) from breaking Robert out of jail, so how will he cope with this crushing blow?
Before Robert was led away to begin his sentence, he and Aaron expressed their love for each.
Lee’s mum Wendy (Susan Cookson) was in court to watch as Robert heard his fate.
She was joined by Luke, Lee’s brother – the man Victoria had recently befriended.
Fans expressed their suspicions that Luke was somehow connected to Lee, but he seemed totally surprised at the coincidence.
Will Luke set out to avenge his brother’s death?
And, will Aaron hit rock bottom again and lash out at his loved ones in bid to come to terms with his future without Robert?
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
