Emmerdale fans were left in tears after the pair were forced to part ways in Thursday’s double bill, after it emerged Robert (played by Ryan Hawley) had handed himself into the police. Things are set to get worse as Robert will appear in court next week, as he faces a charge of murder.
It was Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) who alerted the pair that they were in trouble earlier this week.
While in hospital, she saw her rapist Lee Posner’s (Kris Mochie) mother Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) told her son had passed away.
It soon emerged this was a direct result of Robert’s attack on him, which led to him charged for GBH (Grievous Bodily Harm), meaning he now could face a charge for murder.
As the pair left on the run, a blunder from Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) led them straight to the cottage in which Aaron and Robert had been hiding in before they hatched their plan to go abroad.

Although Chas pretended she was in labour, the police quickly saw Paddy’s SatNav giving a location to where the duo would be.
Robert handed himself in to save Aaron from a life on the run, leaving his partner distraught as he watched him drive off in a police car.
In last night’s episode, Aaron was left heartbroken as he realised his husband could be gone for good, after their plans for the future were ruined.
At the end of the episode, he was seen taking a call to an unidentified person pleading him to hatch a plan for Robert’s escape.
Chas and the rest of the Dingle’s will be left concerned about how Aaron will cope with the reality of losing his husband.
Lucy Pargeter said: “She’s worried about his state of mind, she’s worried about what could happen to Aaron, as in his self harming or his depression or going off the rails, that’s always in the background.
“She’s offered her help, she’s tried to be strong and said right get over him you need to move forward and try to be there for him, so she’s quite concerned about his mental state.”
With it yet to be confirmed when Robert’s last episode will air, viewers are still hoping there might be a happy ending for the pair.
This week, as Robert will appear in court, will he end up giving a guilty plea, or will he have other plans?
Perhaps there is still time for Aaron’s plan to get him out of prison to work, but he is quickly running out of time.
Who is Aaron trying to get a favour from, and will they follow through on his call for help?
Emmerdale continues on Monday at 7pm on ITV.
