Emmerdale fans rage over shock ’Dingle code’ breach as Liv faces prison 'How could they?'

Liv Flaherty’s (played by Isobel Steele) awful actions saw her accidentally spike Lisa’s (Jane Cox) drink following orders from her troubled friend Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) to seek revenge on Daz Spencer (Mark Jordon) last week.

As Lisa was taken to hospital, a flurry of events followed that saw Gabby take the fall for her friend in a bid to make amends for playing a trick on her at her 16th birthday party.

While neither teenager expected Lisa to be so badly affected by the ketamine, which Gabby stole from Vanessa Woodfield’s (Michelle Hardwick) veterinary bag, the consequences were dire.

Unable to conceal the truth any longer, Liv told Lisa the truth in heartbreaking scenes, but Lisa’s decision to tell the police the truth surprised many.

Long-time viewers will remember that for as long as the ITV soap has been going the Dingle family have dealt with their problems “within the family”.

Taking to Twitter, fans shared their horror at the plot development.

One person posted: “Lisa Dingle is a grass.”

“Oh Lisa you broke the Dingle code,” another wrote.

A third agreed: “Lisa, did not expect her to do that. #Emmerdale.”

While a fourth echoed: “Lisa Dingle is a grass, pass it on #emmerdale.”

One viewer worried for the future of the Dingles on the soap, saying: “Oh Lisa, this is gonna tear the family #Emmerdale.”

The farmer showed no remorse for her decision during tonight’s episode of Emmerdale when the rest of the clan found out what she’d done.

Giving a blunt explanation, Lisa simply said: “Because I nearly died.”

But Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) was adamant that Lisa had acted wrongly and insisted that Dingles “don’t do that”.

“Oh because of your damn code,” the bed-ridden character snapped back, before adding: “Try feeling like I did. Where would the code get you then?”

But is there a deeper reason for Lisa’s behaviour? And will Liv go to prison?

Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
