Emmerdale BLUNDER: Viewers in uproar as 'mystery voice' interrupts soap 'Who is that?'

Fans of the soap were shocked when the continuity announcer appeared to have left their microphone on as began.

Viewers claimed they were able to hear rustling noises and talking in the background, with many insisting the voice belonged to the STV announcer.

Many took to Twitter to comment on the noise issues and complain that the latest instalment had been ruined.

“The announcer forgot to put his microphone off. So funny. #Emmerdale #STV,” one viewer tweeted.

Another added: “The continuity announcer at @WeAreSTV has forgotten to put his microphone off and now we can hear him ruffling pieces of paper and mumbling to himself during @Emmerdale. #Emmerdale #STV.”

A third continued: “Errr @wearestv someone has left their microphone on I can’t hear #emmerdale at all.”

“WHO is the audio guy doing #emmerdale sacked. Why is the sound so bad? #emmerdale,” someone else wrote.

A fifth shared: “Unreal amount of excitement when I realised the @WeAreSTV continuity announcer didn’t turn his mic off! Turned that volume right up to 35! #stv #emmerdale.”

Last night’s episode of Emmerdale saw the village stunned when they found Ashley Thomas’ (John Middleton) memorial window had been smashed.

New vicar Reece claimed that the window looked “garish” and suggested to the villagers that it should be removed.

Shocked by his proposal, Ashley’s widow Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and her friends confronted him and insisted it shouldn’t be removed.

While the villagers were hopeful that newcomer Reece would change his mind, they were heartbroken to later find that the window had been destroyed.

Laurel could be seen looking tearfully through the large hole the middle of the memorial as she tried to guess who would want to ruin it.

Meanwhile, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) came to blows over whether or not they should keep their unborn child.

While the vet begged her to keep their baby, Chas insisted she would have an abortion as she didn’t want to raise another child.

Emmerdale continues tonight on ITV at 7pm.
