Unfortunately for Tanya (played by Jo Joyner) her reunion with daughters Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) and Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) was far from happy as the pair were involved in a tragic fall from the roof of the Queen Vic.
Abi and Lauren are currently fighting for their lives in hospital with fans of the BBC soap anxiously waiting to find out if they’ll survive.
While both have been revealed to be leaving Walford, it is still unknown how they will exit.
But soap star Jo, has admitted she returned to EastEnders so that she could be part of their departure.
“I feel protective of my screen family and genuinely responsible for them,” she told Radio Times.
“When I thought that the girls might be leaving, I felt I should be there for them.”
The 40-year-old actress went on to add: “I’ve watched Lorna grow from a 10-year-old sweetie into a beautiful and talented woman.
“Jacqueline has been such a pleasure to work with and I love her to bits. I couldn’t say no to being involved in their exit stories.”
