EastEnders spoilers: Sonia and Martin Fowler to REUNITE in Stacey Slater twist?

EastEnders stalwart Sonia (played by Natalie Cassidy) could be about to go through an unexpected u-turn.

The long-standing Albert Square resident has been absent from major storylines in recent weeks.

However, Sonia could have a new love-interest on the horizon – and it’s a shocker.

Exclusive spoiler pictures show an upcoming party in Walford with all the major players.

And it seems Sonia has been getting close to old-flame Martin (James Bye).

During the bash, single Sonia fondly remembers her time married to Martin – and it seems the feelings have re-emerged.

When he nods off, she steals a small smooch which will be sure to send EastEnders fans into meltdown.

However, the road to reunion will not be smooth as the pair could be blighted by Martin’s most recent ex, Stacey (Lacey Turner).

The former lovers, who share children, have also been growing closer together.

When Martin steps into defend her honour during an E20 Bank Holiday bash, she also grabs a kiss.

However, it’s Sonia who is left to deal with his bruises after the lads turn nasty.

Her caring nature doesn’t go unnoticed by Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield), who wonders what her mother is up to.

The inquisitive teen instantly demands to know if the chemistry she’s witnessed is real – but Sonia doesn’t play ball.

Later on, Bex gives her mum a makeover and sneakily sets up a birthday date with her dad.

But when Stacey also arrives at Kathy Beale’s (Gillian Taylforth) bash, it seems the penny’s dropped and she realises both women are after Martin.

But who will he choose? And will it cause a major fall-out on Albert Square?

Elsewhere on EastEnders, Calum “Halfway” Highway (Tony Clay) revealed he has another secret on last night’s instalment of the BBC One soap.

The solider found himself praised left, right, and centre for his efforts.

However, he revealed at the end of the instalment how he doesn’t think the same of himself – what is he hiding?
