In this coming Friday’s episode, Ollie (played by Tony O’Callaghan) will receive a horrific blow to the head.
Convinced Ollie has been hurting Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Mo (Laila Morse) take matters into their own hands and can be seen wielding a hammer in new spoiler photos.
However, before they even get a chance to get answers, Ollie collapses and bangs his head just as Jean arrives.
EastEnders producers announced earlier this month that Tony O’Callaghan will reprise his role next week.
Posting from the official Twitter account, the soap teased fans with what’s to come.
The tweet confirmed his return, and also revealed that it would be a short stint.
It read: “Tony O’Callaghan will be reprising his role as Ollie Walters when the character makes a brief return to the Square later this month.
“With Jean returning to Walford earlier this year, alone, and avoiding any questions about her marriage, are we about to learn the truth?”
It appears that fans will finally receive long-awaited answers about what happened between Jean and Ollie.
Ollie was last seen on screen in 2016 when he was happily living with Jean in Brighton.
However, after Jean’s shock comeback earlier this year, viewers have been questioning why she returned alone.
A source told Inside Soap: “Kat and the whole family are in dire need of cash, so she can’t see why they wouldn’t want to make the most of this good fortune.
“She’s keen to pay back the money to Jean so she can return to Ollie in Brighton.
“However, when Kat mentions Ollie, it’s clear that Jean isn’t at all happy to hear his name.”
The source continued: “Kat’s on to Jean like a shot.
“It’s clear as day that something bad has happened, and she won’t rest until she finds out what it is!
“Kat interrogates Jean and she eventually cracks and admits she’s avoiding going home to Ollie because he hurt her!”
As Big Mo and Kat confront the supposed abuser, he attempts to explain his side of the story.
But Jean soon realises they have misunderstood her words and tries to clarify the situation.
Is Jean trying to cover something else up, or have they got the wrong end of the stick?
EastEnders continues tomorrow on BBC One at 8pm.
