EastEnders spoilers: Michelle Fowler headed for soap CROSSOVER with very odd twist

EastEnders viewers may remember actor Ned Porteous, who currently plays the hugely-popular villain Joseph Tate on Emmerdale, once appeared on its BBC counterpart.

The soap actor enjoyed a stint in Walford back in 2016, a matter of months before the role of Michelle was recast and Jenna made her big debut.

Following tonight’s instalment however, viewers put two and two together and came up with an unbelievable prediction.

When Michelle first arrived two years ago, she admitted to having a fall-out with her son and he was refusing to speak to her.

The character confirmed she was leaving tonight with the admission she was heading back to America to visit her two children Mark Fowler Jr (Ned) and Vicky Fowler (Scarlett Alice Johnson).

It makes sense following a tumultuous time on the Square she would want to reconnect with her closest family.

Speaking to her best friend Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) about her plans, the pair shared a poignant farewell.

The soap’s fans were left convinced Michelle could be making a hilarious cameo in the Yorkshire Dales in a soap crossover.

Taking to Twitter, people were quick to share their theories on the possibility.

One person wrote: “Michelle, Mark has changed his name to Joseph and is doing quite well in the Dales.”

“Michelle’s gonna pop up to Yorkshire to see Mark in Emmerdale,” another fan said.

A third shared: “Michelle only needs to nip up north to see Mark seeing as he’s in #Emmerdale now.”

While a fourth blasted: “#Eastenders Jenna Russell’s exit storyline is absolutely atrocious – Michelle’s gonna pop up to Yorkshire to see Mark in Emmerdale and then go back to Australia to see Vicky who she supposedly last saw 3 months ago.”

“Michelle’s going to see Mark and Vicky, I guess she will be staying at home farm and popping to the Woolpack for a pint #EastEnders #emmerdale,” another speculated.

One person had a very intriguing theory for the actress’s next career move.

“@bbceastenders @emmerdale @jennarusselluk perhaps #Michellefowler could dye her hair and now be the new #ZoeTate 🙂 I just got used to Michelle too :(,” they suggested.

Ned’s Emmerdale character is embroiled in a huge storyline on the soap, having embarked on a relationship with Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb).

He has also made an enemy with fan-favourite Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and become involved behind-the-scenes in Ross Barton’s (Michael Parr) acid attack.

This likely means Ned won’t be leaving the village anytime soon, but could Jenna be headed up there for a stint?

EastEnders continues Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and Emmerdale airs tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
