EastEnders resident Kush Kazemi (played by Davood Ghadami) has been at the centre of all things Slater related in recent months after he found love blossom with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace). But as their romance continues and the reality of looking after the clan’s young children sets in, it’s been confirmed there will be another twist in store after it was confirmed Davood would be leaving once his current contract comes to an end.
Kush moved to Walford after struggling to cope with the death of his wife but soon settled into his new life in the Square.
The market trader soon found love with Shabnam Masood (Rahkee Thakrah) and in the years since has become one of the fans’ favourite characters.
But, fans of the BBC soap were gutted last night when it was confirmed the character would be leaving in the coming months.
“Bosses have a huge plot planned but although Davood was told in January, his departure it is not for a very long time yet, in fact, Kush will be on screen until well into 2021.

“It’s a shame and he will be missed by everyone at Elstree but sometimes the cost of having a big storyline means losing big characters,” a show insider told Metro.co.uk.
An EastEnders spokesperson also told the publication: We can confirm Davood will be leaving EastEnders when his contract comes to an end next year.
“Davood has been a wonderful addition to EastEnders and we wish him all the best for the future.”
Kate Oates, head of continuing drama at the BBC, added: “Davood is a fantastic actor and a hugely popular company member, so we will miss him hugely.”

Elsewhere, the market stallholder has become known for his very close friendship with Martin Fowler (James Bye), despite them warring after discovering the paternity of young Arthur Fowler.
In more recent months, he’s struck up a romance with fiery Kat Slater and has become a clear father figure to her children.
After the news broke on Saturday evening, fans flocked to Twitter to express their sadness at the decision.
One shared: “Omg I’m devastated over this news. Kush is one of the best male characters. What a loss for the show! #EastEnders.”
Another added: “I’m not happy about this either. I love Kush and he’s a genuinely nice guy too. I will definitely miss Davood.”
“One of the strongest characters at the moment, such a bad decision,” wrote a third.
A fourth commented: “Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that. I really like Kush #EastEnders.”
“This is so sad. I love the character, will be sorry to see him go,” agreed another.
