Last night, Kush (played by Davood Ghadami) applied for a job in Mel Owen’s (Tamzin Outhwaite) revamped club, R&R.
Kush initially turned down an offer from Mel, but during the latest instalment of EastEnders, he took a surprising U-turn.
Suddenly open to the idea, Kush decided to meet with Mel to discuss the role further.
However, when Kush admitted he had no previous experience in security, his chances of landing the job seemed next to none – until Mel made a surprising offer.
“Well, there’s still time to train you up before the re-launch, I suppose,” she said, with a curious glint in her eye.
Naturally, Kush was delighted with his new venture, but viewers of the BBC soap smell danger ahead.
“I suspect Kush’s heart condition will eventually play up again, working at the club,” wrote one audience member.
Another asked: “What’s Kush doing? Tsk.”
“Kush really? With his heart condition?” gasped a third.
What’s more, actor Davood Ghadami recently caught the dancing bug following his stint on Strictly Come Dancing and going on to compete on the show’s subsequent tour.
The drama comes after fans have been pleading for the return of Shabnam Masood (Rakhee Thakrar), who ditched Kush after learning Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) was carrying his baby in 2016.
Kush and Shabnam were at the centre of one of the most harrowing storylines in EastEnders history when the mother-to-be suffered a stillbirth.
“I want to see Shabnam again, I think she would make the current Masood/Ahmed family much more tolerable,” said one fan.
Another added: “It would be interesting to see her come back and see how her relationship with her daughter has progressed and how it has changed Shabnam herself.”
A third agreed: “Yeah I’d love to see her back, she really left too soon. It would be great to see how she’s managed with her cystic fibrosis stricken daughter, plus there is so many different stories that they could take with the CF.
“It would also give Masood something else to do rather than act the fool or cause hype over a few samosas. We could have the old Masood back.”
EastEnders continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on BBC One.
