EastEnders spoilers: Kat Slater return twist revealed as Jessie Wallace comes back TONIGHT

EastEnders left fans with a red herring this week after Big Mo (Laila Morse) told Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) that Kat was dead.

Of course, every EastEnders fan not living under a rock is well aware that Jessie Wallace is reprising her role as Kat for the foreseeable future.

Tonight’s instalment of the BBC soap will see Kat’s nearest and dearest rally together told hold a fundraiser for the local legend’s funeral.

However, before they break the bank on a lavish ceremony, Kat comes bursting into the Queen Vic with her thigh-high boots and signature leopard print coat.

Naturally, all eyes are bound to turn to Big Mo, who has been in floods of tears wailing about her niece’s death.

While it remains unclear as to why Big Mo has been spreading news about Kat’s death, you can guarantee it’s to do with a cheap buck.

In a video shared on the EastEnders Instagram page, actress Laila Morse let slip details of Mo’s game plan.

“Since I’ve been back I think Mo’s about the same but I think she’s got a little bit more devious. She always a crafty person,” the 72-year-old grinned.

Laila added that Big Mo “likes earning a few quid” and would “go quite a long way to get a few bob”, hinting that she’s in desperate need of money.

The latest news comes after Stacey actress Lacey Turner revealed that the Slaters’ sensational comeback will have dire consequences for her beloved character.

“The Slaters coming back kind of ruins Stacey’s life really.

“They come back, cause a load of trouble and then expect Stacey to put it back together,” she told Digital Spy.

Lacey added: “When I heard they were coming back I was so excited.

“I love being around them; I love working with them and I think it’s nice for her to have her family back.”

Earlier in the week, Jean exposed Big Mo’s lie as she revealed that Kat was alive and well.

EastEnders continues tonight at 7.30pm and 9pm on BBC One.
