It was reported earlier this week that Big Mo (played by Laila Morse) would drop in on EastEnders‘ Albert Square to visit Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).
However she will not be returning with good news as she quickly breaks the news that Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) is dead.
It was previously theorised that this death was in some way connected to the arrival of new Slater girl Hayley (Katie Jarvis).
Tonight’s trailer saw that, after the news has settled in, Stacey will arrange a wake to commemorate Kat in the Queen Vic.
The video showed Walford regulars celebrating Kat’s life as a black cab pulls up outside.
Nothing but a glimpse of lip gloss and leopard print was needed to confirm that inevitable: Kat is back, and she’s alive and well.
Kat will return to the BBC’s soap later on this month, alongside Big Mo, and Jean Slater (Gillian Wright).
Jessie recently spoke to Metro about her character’s monumental return, and what she may have in store for viewers.
She said: “I am thrilled to be returning to EastEnders and knowing what John Yorke has in store for the Slaters is incredibly exciting.
“I love Kat and Walford dearly and I cannot wait to get started.
“Watch out Walford, Kat’s coming home.”
EastEnders boss John Yorke announced the Slaters’ return last year, where he added: “The Slaters are one of the all-time great EastEnders families and Albert Square has never felt quite the same since they left.”
