EastEnders spoilers: Karen Taylor in secret escape plot as Keanu’s questioned by police?

Phil Mitchell’s (played by Steve McFadden) life hangs in the balance after he was hit over the head with a spanner by Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner).

Stacey was trying to protect her husband Martin (James Bye) but before they could decide what to do Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) walked in and demanded they are leave.

Ever since, Ben has been trying his hardest to frame Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) for the attack.

Next week viewers will see the young mechanic become increasingly worried as the police question him and he soon discovers some unsettling news that makes him a prime suspect.

Ben learnt last week that he has been written out of his father’s will in favour of Keanu but the mechanic only finds out that he would benefit from Phil’s death in upcoming scenes.

After finding out the shocking news Keanu begins to panic as he realises he now has a motive for wanting the Mitchell hard man dead.

Later in the week he’s called in for questioning and when he returns he heads off to see him mum Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley).

Fearing the worst, Karen urges Keanu to flee Albert Square but before he can make a decision, Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) calls with some shocking news.

Louise hasn’t left Phil’s side since the attack and has some surprising news to pass on about her dad’s condition.

Keanu manages to get a worried Louise off the phone and continues to talk things over with Karen.

EastEnders viewers know fan favourite Karen will do anything to protect her children so it won’t be a surprise if she makes sure Keanu can flee safely.

Will Keanu decide to flee Walford or we he stay by Louise’s side as they prepare for the arrival of their baby?

Meanwhile Stacey and Martin who have already left Walford in the aftermath of Phil’s attack, may be gone for good.

After the attack, Stacey talked through her options with the rest of the Slater clan and decided it was best that she go on the run.

BBC soap star Lacey had confirmed she would be leaving the BBC soap on maternity leave but Martin’s exit came as a surprise.

However the EastEnders star has hinted in an interview with Digital Spy that they may have to stay away for a while.

Discussing what the future holds for Stacey and Martin now, Lacey added: “We’ll just have to see how Ben’s plan plays out – poor Keanu!

“Stacey and Martin are planning to lay low and let the dust settle, but I’m sure they’ll be in cahoots with the Slaters for updates,” she told Digital Spy.

“For now, Walford isn’t safe for any of them so they had to vanish.”

If Ben’s plan falls through, will they have to stay away from the Square for good?

EastEnders continues Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
