The show favourite (played by Laurie Brett), who first appeared in 2004, will awake from her coma in upcoming scenes.
Jane has been unconscious ever since Max Branning (Jake Wood) tried to kill her in an arson attack, he’s been on tenterhooks that she could reveal the truth behind the fire.
Steven Beale (Aaron Sidwell) died following the blaze, having set the building alight under Max’s orders.
He and Max Branning feared their secrets would be exposed after Jane rumbled them, but she unexpectedly survived.
When she finally wakes up, Max is there to greet her and make sure she stays quiet on any details she may remember as the police arrange to visit.
Max issues a chilling threat that Jane can’t ignore, prompting her to reluctantly tell the police about Steven starting the blaze – without a mention of Max.
Jane then breaks down and tells the truth about Steven to her husband Ian (Adam Woodyatt), vowing never to return to Albert Square.
Begging Ian to agree to leave for good, it’s not long before Jane changes her mind and confronts Max.
Later in the week, Jane makes an unexpected decision and tells Ian that she will leave Walford – without him.
Utterly stunned, Ian is left heartbroken as Jane declares they are over. What could be behind Jane’s decision to end their relationship?
EastEnders continues tonight on BBC One at 7.30pm.
